Evanecz finishes 28th

VICTORIA, B.C. — Red Deer’s Mitch Evanecz carded a final-round score of 4-under 66 Sunday to finish tied for 28th in the Times Colonist Savings Open, the season-opening stop on the Canadian Pro Golf Tour.

Evanecz, with earlier rounds of 71-71-72, ran up a 72-hole total of even-par 280 and earned a cheque for $1,272.

Andrew Rogue of Monterey Park, Calif., won the event with a nine-under 266 total that included scores of 64-70-71-61.
