Exelta members pick up gold

Carter Pisko and Savanna Chanminaraj of the Red Deer Exelta Gymnastics Club both picked up gold medals in the trampoline and tumbling Western Canadian Cup in Beaumont during the weekend.Pisko won the men’s provincial C double mini-trampoline (DMT) and was fourth on the trampoline while Chanminaraj took first in the women’s provincial C DMT to go with a sixth in trampoline and eighth in provincial D tumbling.

Pisko won the men’s provincial C double mini-trampoline (DMT) and was fourth on the trampoline while Chanminaraj took first in the women’s provincial C DMT to go with a sixth in trampoline and eighth in provincial D tumbling.

In provincial A DMT Tess McLachlin was third and Erika Blair was ninth.

Meanwhile, the Exelta artistic girls’ team competed in the Summit Invitational in Canmore.

Karis Wygiera won the pre-argo 2003 division with Aayla Ronspies fourth.

Wygiera won the beam and floor exercise while taking third on the uneven bars.

Ronspies was second on the floor and beam, third on the floor and fourth on the bars.

Cydney Marler placed fourth in the argo class following a second on the vault, fourth on the floor and fifth on the bars and beam.

Summer Little Child was seventh in the provincial 1 novice division while winning the floor and placing fifth on the bars with Taylor Plante eighth in the provincial 3 open and Lina Koller 10th in the provincial 4 tyro/novice class.

Katherine Stuber took eighth in the pre-argo 2004 class while finishing second on the beam and fifth on the floor with Tahlysa Hanson ninth and Kyra Gamelin 10th in the argo A division.

Hanson won the vault and was third on the bars with Gamelin taking fourth on the bars.

Hannah Wright was 10th in the pre-argo B class and Sydney Rix 16th in the provincial 3 tyro division.
