Four Red Deer artists have the thought processes behind their art projects unveiled in the Thinking Big exhibition at the Alberta Crafts Council in Edmonton.

Four Red Deer artists have the thought processes behind their art projects unveiled in the Thinking Big exhibition at the Alberta Crafts Council in Edmonton.

Dawn Detarando and Brian McArthur, of Voyageur Art and Tile, Glynis Wilson Boultbee, and Matt Gould are among the participating artists in an exhibit that looks at the time-consuming story behind public art projects.

The reasons why artists bid on the chance to create public art works, as well as how these new public “monuments” are built and maintained, are explored in technical drawings, models, photo and video documentation, and artists journals.

The show will run to April 7 in the Feature Gallery of the Alberta Craft Council, 10186-106 St. in Edmonton.
