EDMONTON — Fire officials now say that two people have been killed after a house exploded in northeast Edmonton.

CTV reported that one person is still missing and four people, including a child, were injured during the blast.

Fire crews are investigating whether the explosion may have been caused by a gas leak.

Several neighbouring homes were badly damaged in the blast and 15 homes were evacuated.

Robert D’Aoust, the area fire chief, says there’s an indication that over a dozen homes have received various levels of damage.

Dave Sinclair says he was sitting as his computer when he heard a loud bang and felt his whole house shake and when he looked outside, people were running through the streets in a panic.
