FORT MCMURRAY — Alberta RCMP have confirmed that twin 17-year-old brothers who were attacked in a city park in Fort McMurray died of multiple stab wounds.

Police say they are investigating leads in the deaths of James and William Blake, but can’t release more details because it would compromise the case.

RCMP released the autopsy results following a memorial service for the two Grade 11 students at St. Paul Catholic Church.

Vanessa Walsh, a close friend, attended the service with her children, who considered the twins big brothers.

She says the boys were best friends, funny, polite, liked music and loved their mom, who raised them on her own.

Walsh says she is hopeful police will arrest whoever is responsible for their deaths.
