CALGARY — The Red Deer Fencing Club captured seven medals at the Sparta Open during the weekend.
The club dominated the U17 men’s epee with Zac Zanussi winning gold, Devyn Hurry silver and Jesse Bawtinheimer bronze.
Hurry struck gold in the U15 men’s epee with Bawtinheimer and Riley Norman finishing third.
Norman won the U13 men’s epee.
The tournament was a national and an Alberta circuit event for juniors and cadets.
