Riley Norman of the Red Deer Fencing Club struck gold in the Canadian championships at Sherbrooke, Que., during the weekend.
Norman was the top fencer in the under-15 men’s epee event.
Meanwhile, Red Deer Club teammate Devyn Hurry placed 12th in the U17 men’s epee.
Karis Langvand of the Red Deer Club has been selected to try out for the Canadian team for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero.
