A fog machine caused a mini evacuation at St. Matthew Catholic School in Rocky Mountain House on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools communications director Jeanne Davis, a Grade 8 student brought in a fog machine for a science project.
“The fog caused the fire alarm to go off so the fire department suggested the class evacuate the room so they could clear the fog,” Davis said.
They were permitted back in the room a short time later. No one was injured and no damage was done to the room.
Other classes in the school at the time were not evacuated.
