Former chief administrator of Lamont, Alta., charged with fraud, forgery

RCMP have arrested a former chief administrator of the town of Lamont and charged him with forgery and fraud.

FORT SASKATCHEWAN, Alta. — RCMP have arrested a former chief administrator of the town of Lamont and charged him with forgery and fraud.

Police won’t release details of the allegations as the case is now before the courts.

Media reports say the man is accused of extracting kickbacks from a property developer.

Thomas Miller is charged with forgery, uttering a forged document and two other charges.

He was fired by the town in 2011.

Miller, who declined comment, has been released from custody and is to appear in Fort Saskatchewan provincial court on June 6.
