Former Edmonton physician faces sex charges involving children

EDMONTON — A man who used to work as a doctor at Edmonton’s Stollery Children’s Hospital has been charged with sex offences involving children.

EDMONTON — A man who used to work as a doctor at Edmonton’s Stollery Children’s Hospital has been charged with sex offences involving children.

Police say the allegations did not involve patients at the hospital.

The man was charged in July with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, committing an indecent act, indecent exposure, forcible confinement and assault.

He is to appear in Edmonton provincial court on Sept. 10.

There is no publication on the man’s name but police did not release his identity out of concern that the information might identify his alleged victims.

Alberta Health Services said the man is no longer working at the Stollery or any other health facility in the province.
