Fraser gives Ice 3-1 series lead

Matt Fraser scored a power-play goal at 13:08 of overtime as the Kootenay Ice took a commanding 3-1 series lead against the Portland Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League finals with a 5-4 victory on Wednesday night.

CRANBROOK, B.C. — Matt Fraser scored a power-play goal at 13:08 of overtime as the Kootenay Ice took a commanding 3-1 series lead against the Portland Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League finals with a 5-4 victory on Wednesday night.

Jesse Ismond and Cody Eakin each scored twice for the Ice, who have won eight straight games at home in this post-season.

Ryan Johansen scored twice for the Winterhawks while Troy Rutkowski and Ty Rattie each chipped in with a goal.

Game 5 is Friday in Portland, Ore.
