Water use charges are going up in the Gasoline Alley area.
Red Deer County council decided on Tuesday to support a water use charge of $1.26 per cubic metre for May. Last year’s rate was $1.10 per cubic metre.
The county learned that the City of Red Deer was upping its supply rates for potable water supplied into the Gasoline Alley area, according to the county’s existing water supply agreement.
“We’re only passing on the cost,” said Mayor Jim Wood. “We’re not making money on this.”
