Generals belted by Border Kings

The Bentley Generals traveled to Lloydminster on Saturday and were belted 6-1 by the Border Kings in Chinook Hockey League action.

Darren Deschamps scored the Generals’ lone goal, while the Border Kings got markers from six different players and a three-assist performance from Zac Sim.

Travis Yonkman stopped 19 shots for Bentley. Lloydminster netminder Jody Lehman made 23 saves.

The Generals were coming off Friday’s 6-2 win over the host Carstairs Redhawks in which Chris Falloon scored twice and added two helpers, Jared Lenz popped a pair of goals and Spencer Gyori and Sean Robertson also connected.

Scott Galenza blocked 32 shots for the winners. Carstairs goaltender Kyle Seidel made 31 saves.

• The Innisfail Eagles remained winless, falling 4-2 to the host Stony Plain Eagles on Saturday and losing to the Admirals by the same score on Friday at Sylvan Lake.

Jeffery Clazie and Daryl Blais scored against Stony Plain, while losing netminder Wade Waters made 32 saves. Clayton Wilburn stopped 24 shots for Stony Plain.

On Friday, the Admirals got two goals from each of Turner Lachance and Ernie Stewart and a 28-save outing from Jordan McLaughlin. Replying for the Eagles were Sean Neumeier and Ryan Kallis, while Waters stopped 43 shots.
