BENTLEY — Diarmuid Kelly’s overtime goal lifted the Bentley Generals past the Stony Plain Eagles 4-3 in a Chinook Hockey League game on Saturday.

Kelly fired three goals before 425 fans at the Bentley Arena, with Sean Robertson also connecting for the Generals. Brandt Middleton, Jeff Drummond and Mike Thompson replied for the visiting Eagles.

Bentley netminder Jordan Alford and Stony Plain goaltender Sean Fields both made 31 saves.

The Generals encountered few problems with the Innisfail Eagles on Friday night, as Kent Beagle and Curtis Austring each tallied twice in an 11-3 thumping of the host team.

Also scoring for the Generals were Kelly, Robertson, Tyler Haarstad, Rob Hartnell, Scott Hood, John Hobson and Jared Smyth, while Kelly Rogers, Ian Brander and Brett Sparks answered for Innisfail.

Scott Galenza turned aside 18 shots for Bentley. Kyle Neilson made 39 saves for the Eagles.
