Generals edge the Eagles in overtime

Curtis Austring, Kevin Korol and Brandin Cote also tallied for the Generals, who trailed 2-0 after the first period and outscored their guests 3-1 in the second stanza. Blair Hennes, with a pair, and Jordan Ceh had the Stony Plain goals.

Cody Rudkowsky was terrific in the Eagles net with 36 saves. Bentley’s Scott Galenza stopped 21 shots in front of 300 fans.

At Sylvan Lake, the host Admirals were 4-1 losers to the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs, who got two goals from Bryan Forslund and singles courtesy of Mike Hurley and Brian Woolger.

Jordan Ramstead made 36 saves for the Admirals, whose lone goal was scored by Joel Barrett. Chiefs netminder Blake Grenier turned aside 31 shots.

In a Friday game, the Admirals knocked off the host Innisfail Eagles 9-7 as Chevan Wilson fired three goals and Derek Werenka and Landon Novotney each potted a pair.

Ryan Carter and D.J. Brough added singles for the visitors, while Innisfail replied with two-goal performances from Jeffery Clazie and Clark Lowry and one from each of Kelly Rogers, Luke Boyer and Jason Duffy.

Winning goaltender Kevin Dziaduck made 37 saves, with Evan Miller and Brett Anderson combining to stop 26 shots at the other end.
