The defending Allan Cup champion Bentley Generals opened their 2009-10 Chinook Hockey League win with a pair of one-sided wins over the West Central Alberta Rams during the weekend.

Sean Robertson scored twice and Scott Galenza stopped all 35 shots he faced as the Generals were 5-0 winners on Saturday at the Sylvan Lake Medican Multiplex. Curtis Austring, Curis Martini and John Hobson had the other Bentley goals, while West Central netminder Andy Sinclair made 44 saves.

On Friday, the Generals fired 40 shots at Rams goaltenders Sinclair and Terry McGeough en route to a 10-1 victory, getting a six-point (3g,3a) performance from Kevin Smyth and a five-point (2g,3a) effort from Austring.

Hobson, Robertson, Scoft Hood, Erik Lodge and Riley Lang each scored once for the winners, with Galenza making 23 saves. Kelly Kramer accounted for the Rams marker.
