Generals still rolling

The Bentley Generals got goals from five different players and an 18-save performance from Tim Haun in a 5-2 Chinook Hockey League win over the visiting Sylvan Lake Admirals Saturday.

The Bentley Generals got goals from five different players and an 18-save performance from Tim Haun in a 5-2 Chinook Hockey League win over the visiting Sylvan Lake Admirals Saturday.

Donald Morrison, Andreas Moborg, Chris Sotiropoulos, Travis Brigley and Scott Doucet each notched a goal for the Generals, who led 3-0 after one period and 5-1 after 40 minutes before 387 fans. Landon Novotney and Joel Barrett replied for the Admirals.

Jordan Ramstead made 44 saves in a losing performance. Both clubs were one-for-seven on the power play.

The victory was Bentley’s second of the weekend, following a 14-1 thumping of the host Innisfail Eagles Friday.

Brigley and Sean Robertson each potted four goals for the Generals, who sit atop the CHL standings with a flawless 8-0-0-0 record. Moborg, Doucet, Cale Walker, Brandin Cote, Kyle McEwen and Dustin Claffey rounded out the Bentley attack, while Jason Lundmark contributed five assists and Brigley had three helpers for a seven-point evening.

The Eagles trailed 8-0 after one period and 12-0 after two frames. Taylor Fleming spoiled Haun’s shutout bid with a goal at 16:31 of the third period.

Haun turned aside 13 shots. For the Eagles, losing goaltender Evan Miller blocked 29 of 41 shots and Brett Anderson stopped three of five.
