Girl out of hospital after alleged abduction, sex assault

A young girl allegedly abducted from a north Toronto home and sexually assaulted has been released from hospital.

TORONTO — A young girl allegedly abducted from a north Toronto home and sexually assaulted has been released from hospital.

Toronto police say the girl, who was visiting from Connecticut, was snatched from the home near Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue around 3 a.m. Monday.

Her age has not been released but police say she is a young child.

Investigators with the sex crimes unit say family members found the girl within minutes of the alleged abduction and saw a man running away.

Police are looking for a man described as white, 19 to 20 years old and between 5-6 and 5-10 with an average build.

The investigation continues.
