Elementary school girls will celebrate wellness, fitness and personal growth during the 10th annual Go Girl event on Thursday.
Red Deer College’s Be Fit for Life Centre will host the event from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Collicutt Centre.
Public and Catholic school girls in Grade 5 in Red Deer will be taking part.
“Our goal is to introduce the girls at a young age to a variety of group and individual physical activities,” says Leah Beeton, Go Girl chairperson.
“Our hope is that they will continue to lead active and healthy lifestyles in their middle and high school years.”
This will be Go Girl’s largest event to date, with 638 students, 44 teachers, 47 instructors, 48 high school leaders and 13 committee members participating.
