KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Ponoka’s Isatu Fofanah is a double gold medalist at the Western Canada Summer Games.

Fofanah, who won the women’s 100-metres in record time, anchored the women’s 4x100-metre relay team to a gold medal in a unofficial record time of 45.08 seconds.

Amanda Ntiamoah of Edmonton, Leah Walkenden of Ardrossan and Stephanie Clarkle of Edmonton were also on the team.

The men’s 4x100m team also struck gold.

The boys’ baseball team, which includes Riley Guntrip, Mitch Vanson and Joel Mazurkewich of the Red Deer Servus Credit Union bantam AAA Braves, have advanced to the gold medal game today.

The Alberta girls’ softball team, which includes Taylor Hall of Red Deer and Amy Lank of Ponoka, are 2-2 while the girls’ basketball squad and Morgan Dool of Lacombe is 0-2.
