OLDS — Tanner Dunkle scored a pair of second-period power goals Tuesday but the Olds Grizzlys dropped a 3-2 Alberta Junior Hockey League decision to the Spruce Grove Saints.
Mitch Wheaton and Nolan Huysmans notched first-period goals for the Saints before Dunkle pulled the Grizzlys even in the middle frame. Brady Goebel restored the visitors’ lead before the end of the period and the the final stanza was scoreless.
Saints’ netminder Joel Miller made 19 saves before 437 fans at the Sports Complex, while Olds goaltender Jesse Ehnisz stopped 35 shots.
The Grizzlys host the Calgary Mustangs Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and are at home to the Grande Prairie Storm Saturday at 8 p.m.
