OLDS — Bart Moran had a two-point evening and Brandon Thiessen stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Olds Grizzlys downed the Okotoks Oilers 3-0 Saturday to take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven AJHL South Division semifinal.
Moran opened the scoring in the second period and assisted on a third-period goal by Dylan Hubbs in front of 781 fans at the Sports Complex. Spencer Dorowicz also connected for the Grizzlys, who fired 34 shots at Oilers netminder Michael Tadjdeh.
Game of the series goes Tuesday at Okotoks.
A sixth game, if necessary, will be played Thursday at Olds with a 7:30 p.m. start.
