Grizzlys win sixth consecutive AJHL game

The Olds Grizzlys are rolling. The Grizzlys racked up their sixth consecutive AJHL win Saturday at home, getting two-point performances from Scott Antonsen, Brendan Algeo and Spencer Dorowicz in a 5-1 defeat of the Drumheller Dragons.

OLDS — The Olds Grizzlys are rolling.

The Grizzlys racked up their sixth consecutive AJHL win Saturday at home, getting two-point performances from Scott Antonsen, Brendan Algeo and Spencer Dorowicz in a 5-1 defeat of the Drumheller Dragons.

Antonsen and Algeo each had a goal and an assist for Olds in front of 537 fans at the Sports Complex. Dorowicz contributed two assists and Tanner Sather, Brandon Clowes and Jordan Kancsal also scored for the winners, while the Dragons’ lone marker was courtesy of Justin Cintas. The Grizzlys pelted Dragons goaltender Braden Gamble with 52 shots. Jesse Ehnisz made 34 saves for Olds.

On Friday, the Grizzlys dropped the visiting Canmore Eagles 4-1 as Tanner Dunkle had a goal and an assist and Sather, Mitch Owsley and Casey Rogers also tallied for the winners. Connor Hoekstra was the lone Eagle to beat Olds goalie Brandon Thiessen, who stopped 24 shots.

Cam Barnes made 39 saves for Canmore.

The Grizzlys host the Okotoks Oilers Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and are in Camrose and Brooks Friday and Saturday.
