Guilty plea in sex assault

An Edmonton man has owned up to a vicious attack on his pregnant girlfriend that included biting her on the stump of her amputated arm.

EDMONTON — An Edmonton man has owned up to a vicious attack on his pregnant girlfriend that included biting her on the stump of her amputated arm.

Peter Theodore Strouza, 47, pleaded guilty Thursday in Court of Queen’s Bench to charges of sexual assault, unlawful confinement and uttering death threats.

Crown prosecutor Marisa Anderson told court Strouza and the woman had been in an intimate relationship for five months and he knew she was pregnant.

Strouza picked her up and they drove to a west-end hotel, bought some beer and then parked near his mother’s apartment.

They shared a six-pack and consumed some crack cocaine before getting into a “heated argument” over the woman going to Calgary with her mother to pick up her son from a previous relationship.

Strouza was upset that she would be seeing her former boyfriend, so he beat her and then sexually assaulted her.

Police officers heard her cries for help and found her naked from the waist up sitting in a pickup truck.

Court was told the couple have since split up.
