Hanna named new RDC associate vice-president academic

A new associate vice-president academic has been named at Red Deer College.

A new associate vice-president academic has been named at Red Deer College.

Paulette Hanna will be filling the newly created position on July 21.

Hanna, a former board member at the college, will support RDC’s strategic plan as the college incorporates six new schools, along with the already existing Donald School of Business as it restructures to cut back on administrative duties. She will also participate in academic program development.

Hanna was a member of the board of governors from 2003 to 2010. Her background includes working as a teacher, school principal, deputy superintendent, chief superintendent and as a sessional instructor with the University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge and University of Alberta.

In 2009, she was awarded a Red Deer’s Women of Excellence distinction. She has also been recognized with RDC’s Dawe Memorial Award, in recognition of outstanding contributions to the college and Central Alberta community, and holds the Canadian Association of School Superintendent Provincial EXL Award.
