Happy holidays to all, even those who stole our tree

I would like to thank the person/persons responsible for stealing our outdoor 4.5-foot Christmas tree off our front step while our family was out Christmas shopping. It’s not so much that the tree is gone, it’s the way it was taken.

We moved here from Calgary this spring to live a more laidback way of life. As a first-time homeowner, I was really excited about finally being able to decorate our home as we always want to for us and the kids. Part of that decorating included our little Christmas tree, which by the way was on loan from the kids’ grandparents. We wanted it at the step to greet those who happened upon our door this holiday season.

You did not by any means ruin our family’s first Red Deer Christmas. I am choosing to believe that you were looking for decorations for your own family this Christmas and our tree was the best looking one out there.

I hope that wherever you are this holiday season, you are warm, safe and feel loved. You have made me realize how many things I have to be thankful for and how incredibly blessed myself and my family are.

So in closing, I wish you and yours a very happy holidays and I hope that the Christmas tree brings you as much happiness and joy as it brought to our family in the 24 hours it graced our door step.
