I read the article and saw the photos on Aug. 13 that highlighted the Gord Bamford Golf Tournament, Aug. 4 and 5, at the Lacombe Golf and Country Club.
Hats off to Gord Bamford and his organizing crew who, once again, pulled off a hugely successful golf tournament fundraiser. Well done Gord, organizing committee and attendees!
No doubt the beneficiaries of the $273,000 proceeds, Lacombe Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Lacombe Accessible Park Society, Make a Wish Foundation and Central Alberta Ronald McDonald House will put these funds to very good use.
Behind the scenes, an event of this size takes months of planning and organizing to put together. Although I don’t personally know Gord, I think it’s really impressive and commendable that despite his busy schedule, he makes the time for this event to happen.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with this tournament, this was year number four and, as I understand, has shown steady growth every year.
Thanks again Gord and crew for a great effort! Hope you top the $300,000 mark in 2012!
