Hay compiles book of columns

Wacky and wondrous Christmas stories, ridiculous rants and bittersweet ramblings are included in Hay’s Daze Too, a second collection of newspaper columns by Advocate columnist Harley Hay.

Wacky and wondrous Christmas stories, ridiculous rants and bittersweet ramblings are included in Hay’s Daze Too, a second collection of newspaper columns by Advocate columnist Harley Hay.

This follow-up to Hay’s Daze will present readers with more remembrances about growing up in Red Deer, as well as comic vignettes about Hay losing his pants, losing his keys and other essentials.

The self-published book sells for about $18 and will be available at the local Chapters and Coles stores — as well as Sunworks on Ross Street, where Hay will be signing copies the next two Fridays — Dec. 16 and 23, from about 5 to 8 p.m.

“People have said . . . it’s a fun bathroom reader. With 50-plus columns and a screenplay I snuck in, there’s bound to be at least one thing in the book that you might like. I hope so,” said Hay.

His novel, Finding Time, is also still available at local bookstores for $15.
