A preliminary inquiry has been set for early next year to determine if a Red Deer man accused of dealing in the date-rape drug will go to trial.

Marty Dickson, 31, was arrested on Feb. 2 after members of the Red Deer RCMP Street Team conducted a search at a residence in West Park.

Police allege that they recovered various quantities of drugs, including ketamine, methamphetamine and gamma hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) — also known as the date-rape drug.

Dickson was charged with three counts of trafficking in drugs, three counts of failing to comply with a recognizance and possession of property obtained by crime.

A preliminary inquiry has been scheduled for Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench on Jan. 7, 2013.
