A Hobbema police officer accused of using excessive force during an arrest returns to court in Wetaskiwin this week.

A Hobbema police officer accused of using excessive force during an arrest returns to court in Wetaskiwin this week.

RCMP Const. Ronald Craig Lavallee, 36, made a brief appearance in Wetaskiwin provincial court last week to speak to the charge. The matter was adjourned to Thursday, when he and his lawyer will set dates for a hearing.

Lavallee has served in Ponoka as well as in Hobbema. He is on leave from the RCMP.
