A computer game event at Red Deer College will benefit the Red Deer Food Bank. Will Game for Food is a Halo Reach XBox tournament at the Farside Bar and Grill on Saturday. Registration is at 11 a.m., with the tournament to follow from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 or $5 plus a food donation. All proceeds go to the Red Deer Food Bank. Gifts for Grandparents helps seniors in our community enjoy a brighter Christmas. This holiday season, the Family Services of Central Alberta hopes to deliver over 300 gift bags to seniors who are isolated or do not have family in Central Alberta. Donations will be gratefully accepted until Dec. 16. Suggested items include slippers, socks, toiletry items, prepackaged cookies, crackers, jam, gift cards for coffee shops and grocery stores, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and small gift items. Used items will not be accepted. Cash donations are also welcome. Donations over $10 are eligible for a tax receipt. Volunteers are needed to help sort, pack and deliver gifts. Several choirs will perform carols during a Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 2. Winter Voice Concerts presents ihana, It’s Time, Soliloquy and Selah at First Christian Reformed Church at 16 McVicar St. in Red Deer. Times are 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Admission is $15. There’s also a rate of $10 for groups of 10 or more who attend at the 5:30 p.m. concert.
