The Home Routes concert series will bring some critically acclaimed folk and roots music to Lacombe’s historic Flat Iron Museum Building almost monthly until April.

The series starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday with the music of Alan Brody. The acclaimed Kentucky native has written songs for the Oak Ridge Boys, Lorrie Morgan and George Jones and has recently returned to his touring roots.

• World-travelled singer Jenny Berkel will entertain on Friday, Oct. 28, with her soaring vocals and delicate banjo accompaniment by Michelle Elrick.

• Dakota Dave Hull, called one of the best guitarists in the world, plans to mix jazz with ragtime, folk and blues on Saturday, Nov. 26.

• Eileen McGann with David K will perform a haunting concert of Celtic and contemporary music on Sunday, Feb. 5.

• Singer/songwriter Tim Harrison will tell some story songs to create a vivid folk music landscape on Tuesday, March 6.

• And internationally praised singer and multi-instrumentalist Michael Jerome Browne will perform everything from old Appalachian music to Chicago blues on Wednesday, April 18.

All concerts are at 7 p.m. at 5005 50th Ave. in Lacombe. Tickets are $20 ($35 a couple or $45 a family) at the door, and all proceeds go to the performers. Home Routes is a non-profit organization formed to provide new performance opportunities for acoustic musicians and intimate concert occasions for music lovers.
