Hunting, Bentley win overall Grade 9 track and field titles

Hunting Hills took the overall 3J title at the area Grade 9 track meet at Lindsay Thurber Wednesday.Hunting Hills accumulated 195 points with Lindsay Thurber collecting 135.Bentley won the 2J title with 98 points.

Lindsay Thurber was the top team on the boys’ side with Hunting hills winning the overall girls’ title.

Erika Pearson and Hailey Kitt of Hunting Hills were first and second respectively in the girls’ aggregate with Dacia Gramlick of William E. Hay of Stettler third.

Kai Poffenroth of Bentley won the boys’ aggregate with Devin Sheridan of Camille J. Lerouge second and Daniel Billet of Hunting Hills third.

There was one record broken with Cody Hawkes of Lindsay Thurber tossing the javelin 47-metres, breaking the old mark of 45.20m set by Brandon Stillar of William E. Hay in 2010.
