An Iowa woman has filed a lawsuit against rock star Sammy Hagar over a passage in his autobiography claiming it violates a confidentiality agreement between them about a child she says he fathered in 1989.

WATERLOO, Iowa — An Iowa woman has filed a lawsuit against rock star Sammy Hagar over a passage in his autobiography claiming it violates a confidentiality agreement between them about a child she says he fathered in 1989.

In his book, Hagar denies he is the father and says he was extorted.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported (http://bit.ly/tN5Qoe ) the woman, identified in court records as Jane Doe, met Hagar in the late 1980s. Court records show they had an agreement that required Hagar to support her during the pregnancy. The child died shortly after birth.

Hagar’s Iowa attorney, Richard Sapp, declined comment.

His lawyers are asking for the lawsuit to be moved to federal court in Cedar Rapids because both parties live in different states. Hagar lives in California.
