The Red Deer IROC Chiefs open play in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League South Division Sutter Cup league playoff tournament Thursday at 1:45 p.m. against the Calgary Stampeders at the Arena.
The Red Deer Northstar Chiefs take on the Calgary Rangers at 4:45 p.m. at the Arena.
IROC meets the Calgary Blazers at 11:45 a.m. Friday at the Arena and the Calgary Bruins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kinex.
The Northstars clash with the AC Avalanche Friday at 1 p.m. at ther Kinex and meet the Raiders Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Arena.
Playoff action is set for Sunday with the final at 5:30 p.m. at the Arena.
l In other minor news, the Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs were eliminated in the major bantam league playoffs, losing 2-0 to Lethbridge.
They dropped a 2-1 decision Friday and lost 3-2 Saturday in the best-of-three play-in series at Kin City Arenas.
