Two-time Juno Award nominee and children’s performer Mary Lambert will team up with local fire department volunteers to present a show on fire safety at four Central Alberta schools next week.

With the help of firefighters, Lambert will perform her Sing Out Fire Safety program at Poplar Ridge School near Red Deer at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. She’ll do the same at River Glen School in Red Deer at 12:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Lambert will present to children at Spruce View School at 10:30 a.m. and then Bowden School at 1:30 p.m.

Throughout the one-hour show, Lambert will relay a number of important messages, including the necessity of cooking and kitchen safety, as well as learning how and when to stop, drop and roll. She uses interactive music, dance, drama, colourful costumes, humour and fun to convey information in a way that children can understand.

The family singer/songwriter/performer recently moved from Ontario to Alberta. Lambert has received two Juno nominations and eight awards from the United States (Parents’ Choice Award Winner, iParenting Award Winner, and Dr. Toy, Best Children’s Vacation Product Award Winner).

Since 1993, Lambert has toured and performed over 3,000 shows at schools, music festivals and family-focused events throughout Canada.
