MEDICINE HAT — A southern Alberta man has been found not guilty of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at knifepoint.
A jury, however, did find 20-year-old Jordan Mellafont guilty of invitation to sexual touching on April 9, 2011.
Mellafont, of Medicine Hat, was also acquitted of charges of sexual interference and uttering threats.
Mellafont has been in custody for more than a year, and is to be sentenced later today.
