Grade 5 student Sidney Messner, 10, left, helps Grade 2 students Jaedyn Evans and Chris Tanner, both 7, carry a bag of socks and mittens to a car waiting outside West Park Elementary School Thursday. Their bag contributed to the 862 pairs donated to the Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter. Collections were made during the school’s recent Donations Challenge Week, which also brought in $517.26 for the Red Deer SPCA, 1,192 items for the Red Deer Food Bank and 150,706 pop can tabs and $2,052.18 for Ronald McDonald House.
