The Canadian foursome covered the six kilometre course in one hour, 10 minutes and 27.5 seconds.

l Gabrielle Waddell of Red Deer was the lone Canadian to reach the quarter-finals of the women’s 1,000-metre distance in a World Cup short track speed skating event Sunday in Shanghai, China. Waddell finished fourth in 1:37.844 and moved on to the C final, where she took third place and a 13th-overal ranking with a time of 1:37.647.

l Olympic medallist Lyndon Rush of Sylvan Lake and his Canadian crew of Jesse Lumsden, Cody Sorensen and Edmonton’s Neville Wright, placed 11th in a World Cup four-man bobsleigh competition Sunday in La Plagne, France. Team Rush finished with a time 1:57.71.
