Lacombe business a finalist for Award of Distinction

An Alberta Crown corporation based in Lacombe is a finalist for the 2012 Alberta Business Awards of Distinction.Agriculture Financial Services Corporation is one of four organizations in the running for the Employer of Youth Award of Distinction. The others are ABC Benefits Corporation (Alberta Blue Cross) of Edmonton, L Spa & Wellness Centre of Grande Prairie and Upside Software of Edmonton.

Now in their 21st year, the Alberta Business Awards of Distinction are organized by the Alberta Chambers of Commerce.

There are 32 finalists in 10 award categories, including the Aboriginal Woman Entrepreneur Award of Distinction, the Diversity Leadership Award of Distinction, the Employer of Persons with Disabilities Award of Distinction, the Small Business Award of Distinction, the Aboriginal Relations — Best Practice Award of Distinction, the Eagle Feather Business Award of Distinction, the Marketing Award of Distinction, the Youth Entrepreneur Award of Distinction and the Export Award of Distinction.

All finalists are also eligible for the Premier’s Award of Distinction, which recognizes overall outstanding achievement and leadership, and involvement in the community.

Winners will be announced on March 2.
