Lakers’ Huhnold named league’s MVP

Sylvan Lake Lakers outstanding running back Brad Huhnold was named the Central Alberta High School Football League’s most valuable player at the annual awards banquet Wednesday in Camrose.

Running back Braden Nelson of the Stettler Wildcats, who led the league in rushing with over 1,200 yards, was the most valuable offensive player while Hunting Hills’ linebacker Mark Beingessner was the most valuable defensive player.

Brody Slagman of the Lindsay Thurber Raiders was named the special teams player of the year and Nicholas Baharally of the Wildcats was the rookie of the year.
