Lane closures planned as 32nd Street work progresses

The work includes the removal and replacement of one foot of the existing road structure.

Each phase is expected to take approximately seven to 10 days to complete, weather dependent.

During construction, 32nd Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

The first phase is on the south side of 32nd Street eastbound, between 47th Avenue and 44A Avenue.

Phase two is scheduled to start immediately following phase one and is on the south side of 32nd Street eastbound, between 44A Avenue and Sifton Avenue.

The third phase is on the south side of 32nd Street eastbound, between Sifton Avenue and 150 metres east of the 40th Avenue and 32nd Street intersection.

The fourth phase is between the 40th Avenue and 32nd Street intersection and Spencer/Anders Street.

“We are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety of the worksite,” said a City of Red Deer news release issued on Tuesday.

“Residents are reminded to watch for construction signage and expect some delays at these locations.”
