Prairie bluesman Marshall Lawrence will perform his neo-Delta blues and roots music on Friday night at Fratters Speakeasy in Red Deer.

Lawrence, who was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame as “a great blues artist from Canada,” plays acoustic slide and finger-style guitar. He has released four acclaimed CDs: Where’s the Party, The Morning After, Blues Intervention and House Call.

He is described as putting a “raw edge and acid twist” on traditional blues.
