LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — A Lethbridge man has been sentenced to 15 months in jail for trying to smuggle guns from Montana.
A trial for 26-year-old Shawn Aaron Locke was to begin Thursday.
But instead Locke pleaded guilty to possession of an unauthorized weapon, possession of a firearm and three counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.
Last March Locke was arrested in connection with an alleged gun-smuggling ring.
Two other Lethbridge residents were charged and pleaded guilty in Montana.
The Crown dropped other charges against Locke, including conspiracy to traffic firearms.
