Little Gaetz Avenue has already been turned into a one-way between Ross Street and 49th Street.
On Monday, Red Deer city council approved a bylaw amendment to make it official.
The City of Red Deer’s decision to make the street into a one-way for southbound drivers was two-fold.
As Councillor Cindy Jefferies said back in October 2010, it would give the street continuity by having one way throughout.
It was also felt that the one-way street would make the area more safe.
Engineering Services Department manager Frank Colosimo said the two-way street had been allowing vehicles to easily circle the area if they are looking for illegal drugs or sex trade workers.
