Olds College centennial celebration gets $25,000 boost
Penn West Exploration will pump $25,000 into Olds College’s 2013 centennial celebrations.
The Calgary-based oil and gas production company is the college’s single largest corporate donor so far for the centennial project.
About a dozen “marquee events” and other smaller events are being planned by anniversary organizers.
A 100th Anniversary Celebration Book has been created and even a signature centennial wine called Heritage, created as the college gets ready for the celebration.
Known as the Olds College School of Agriculture, when it opened its doors in 2013, the college is now a leader in integrated learning and applied research.
Its scope has gone beyond agriculture, to horticulture, land and environmental management, business, fashion and more.
