Nationally, more than 1,140 applications were received for AgriSpirit funding. A total of $1 million was awarded to 120 rural community groups across Canada this year.

The FCC AgriSpirit Fund annually awards rural community groups between $5,000 and $25,000 for community improvement projects such as recreation and community centres, emergency services training facilities, health and safety centres, emergency services equipment, playgrounds and care homes.

Applications for the 2012 FCC AgriSpirit Fund will open May 7, 2012. Visit www.agrispirit.ca for eligibility requirements and more information.
