Attention all local musicians, dancers, comedians, actors and performance artists: Scripts at Work needs your talents!
Original Romp is a fundraiser for the non-profit playwriting series that will be held in Red Deer on Sunday, Jan. 29. Local performances are being sought for the event.
Organizers say the uncensored, unpredictable fundraiser will present “a great opportunity for any artist or performer with original work to showcase their talent.”
Applications must be submitted by noon on Friday (Jan. 20). They can be filled out and submitted online at scriptsatwork.com.
Interested artists must be 18 years old or older to apply, must perform their own original work, and be able to rehearse during the day of Jan. 29.
Past sold-out events have features musicians, theatre and movement artists, films, stand-up comedy, poetry, and other art forms.
Money raised will support Scripts at Work, which mentors up-and-coming playwrights and the development of scripts in Central Alberta.
All Romp participants and volunteers will receive a tree ticket to the fundraiser.
