PINCHER CREEK — A man who opposes logging in the Castle River recreation area in southwestern Alberta is turning to the courts to try to prevent clear-cutting in the region.
Gordon Petersen of Pincher Creek has asked for a judicial review of the provincial government’s decision to allow logging in the foothills near Waterton National Park.
Petersen says the permits were granted without consulting local people and despite scientific recommendations that the region be protected.
