Lone man holds up north Red Deer bank

A lone man held up a bank on Red Deer’s north side just before 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Red Deer city RCMP were called to the TD Bank at the Village Mall, located in the 6300 block of Gaetz Avenue.

The culprit walked up to the teller and slipped the employee a note demanding money.

The teller gave some money and the suspect fled southbound on foot.

Red Deer RCMP police dog services tried to track down the thief.

Police obtained surveillance photos.

The male is described as Caucasian, early 20s, standing 1.73 to 1.75 metres tall (five foot eight to five foot nine inches), weighing 68 to 73 kg (150 160 pounds), and having acne scars on his face. He was wearing a white hat with a marijuana leaf on the front, plus a grey hoodie and grey plaid pajama pants.

Red Deer city RCMP continue to investigate.
